THREE teenagers were hospitalised when their car left the road and hit a tree.

At 10.50pm last night the Peugeot 206 collided with the tree off the A281 Brighton Road at Shermanbury.

Emergency services were called to the scene and crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service worked to release them from the car.

The driver, an 18-year old man from Broadbridge Heath, and his two passengers, an 18-year old woman from Henfield and a 17-year old girl from Mannings Heath, were treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for minor injuries and were later discharged.
