A PEDESTRIAN who died when he was hit by a car has been named.

Stephen Crouch, 60, of Well Lane, Midhurst, died after the collision at the junction of the A286 and Oaklands Lane, just south of Midhurst, on Saturday Febraury 7.

A blue Peugeot 307 car, travelling north, struck Mr Crouch, who was walking with two dogs, at about 5.30pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither the car driver, a man aged 25, nor his front seat passenger, a woman aged 24, and both from Wisborough Green, near Petworth, were hurt.

The car driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been released on bail until 19 April while enquiries continue.
