FOUR plants pots designed to slow traffic have been given a makeover.

The Viaduct Road planters installed by Brighton and Hove City Council have now had keep left and keep right strapped to them.

Motorists  complained they were “invisible” at night and reported them to both the council and Sussex Police.

The four planters now all have blue and white arrow signs on them.

The council said the measures had been installed to both slow traffic down and “create stronger visual clues about the residential nature of the street”.

Viaduct Road carries 11,200 vehicles per day but only 20% stick to the 20mph speed limit.
