Holy Cross Church in Uckfield staged their Anticipating Pancake Day event extra early in preparation for Shrove Tuesday today.
Canon Martin Onions showed he knew his stuff when it came to flipping but was beaten like his eggs when it came to winning.
His curate the Rev Christian Mitchell showed he was batter.
