A PENSIONER was robbed by three men who stole her handbag in a “cowardly and callous attack”.

The 75-year-old woman  was shopping in Boundary Road, Portslade, this morning at 9.50am when she was approached by the gang.

One pushed her to the ground and her handbag was stolen. The men ran off north up Boundary Road.

Detective Sergeant Chris Lane said: "This was a cowardly and callous attack on a lone elderly victim and we are determined to find her attackers.

"The road was busy with shoppers at the time and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen the three men in the area beforehand or running way afterwards. A 22-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remained in custody on Wednesday afternoon.
