TRAVELLERS pitched up on a city seafront location.
Caravans first arrived just before 9.30am on Tuesday in King’s Esplanade, adjacent to the King Alfred Leisure Centre.
Brighton and Hove City Council officers visited the site to carry out statutory checks.
Parking wardens were on hand and issued notices for parking offences.
The group has been informed that it is trespassing on council-owned land and was asked to leave.
Section 77 notices have been served under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act.
The council said that if these were not complied with, it will go to the courts today for possession orders.
Another unauthorised camp appeared near the Peace Statue, Hove. The council took similar steps to move the group on.
