AN INTERNET sensation paid tribute to Brighton and Hove with a unique take on the iconic beach huts on a charity TV show.

Zoe Sugg, also known as Zoella, unveiled her cake on Comic Relief’s Celebrity Bake Off special.

The 24-year-old video blogger – or vlogger – who has more than seven million subscribers on YouTube, lives in Brighton with fellow internet star Alfie Deyes. Her beach hut cake was met with mixed reactions from judges.

Celebrity baker Paul Hollywood said: “It reminds me of the house on the Wizard of Oz, the one that got trashed”, but he liked the rainbow coloured sponge interior.

Food writer Mary Berry said the cake was “overbaked” and asked for water as she tried it.

Zoella was up against fashion consultant Gok Wan, talk show host Jonathan Ross and model Abbey Clancy.

She said: “Bake Off is one of my favourite programmes so I was very excited when I was asked to take part.

“My advice for people wanting to hold a bake for Red Nose Day is to get your friends involved. It’s nice to have more than just two hands if you make cakes.”
