RESIDENTS have held a protest against the removal of on-street parking.
Uckfield Town Council is set to remove the on-street parking scheme that is currently in place.
But residents argue the move will harm local businesses and trade.
Residents will be asked for their opinions in a town-wide referendum on Thursday, March 12, between 4pm and 9pm.
More than 5,000 leaflets have been printed and are will be distributed across the town ahead of the vote.
Councillor Caroline Pagett, of Uckfield Town Council, said: “I urge residents to support the many independent local retailers on the high street who are concerned for their customers and the future of their livelihood, by excising your right to vote and say no to the removal of the on street parking on Uckfield.”
