A TEENAGE cancer survivor is backing a charity campaign to save more lives.
Becca Jones is rallying people across Sussex to get behind Cancer Research UK’s Cross Cancer Out.
The campaign is part of the charity’s general election drive, which calls on the government to ensure cancer patients are diagnosed early enough for treatment to make a difference and to get the best treatment.
Becca, 17, of Chichester, is too young to vote in the election but feels her generation need to have this on their agenda now.
The teenager was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2013 and spent five months in hospital having chemotherapy.
She is keen to raise awareness about the symptoms of cancer, especially in teenagers. Becca said: “As a cancer survivor, I know we cannot underestimate the devastating impact the disease will have.
“So it’s important MPs listen to constituents and put cancer at the top of their agenda.”
People can email candidates at cruk.org/crosscancerout and call on them to help save lives.
