Vandalism is normally pretty mindless but why anyone would target a memorial bench is hard to fathom.
The vandal(s) who damaged Marie Anderson’s bench in Preston Manor Gardens have, temporarily at least, robbed her family of a precious reminder of their loved one. And they sullied the family’s memory of a cherished park that Ms Anderson loved so much that she asked for a bench there.
They have also forced the council to spend cash and time on fixing the bench.
We can only hope the vandals think again next time they are in the mood for causing mindless damage.
