Peter Snow and David Dimbleby have nothing on these cute critters when it comes to calling elections.
Mystic Monty and the meerkats of Drusillas Park have predicted the election outcome for the Eastbourne constituency and have forecast a landslide victory for the Liberal Democrats.
The prediction was good news for Stephen Lloyd , who is seeking re- election to the seat in May’s General Election and he was at the zoo to witness the spectacle, pictured above.
The furry favourites were presented with a street containing four coloured houses, each representing a political party, and seven out of the pack of eight entered the yellow house.
The meerkats’ prediction echoed recent data from Conservative financier Lord Ashcroft that places Mr Lloyd as firm favourite to retain his seat with 46%, followed by Tory candidate Caroline Ansell with 25%, 18% for Ukip’s Nigel Jones and 7% for Labour’s Jake Lambert.
