A MAN plunged 50 feet after he climbed out of a fourth floor windowed and is believed to have been trying to get into a room with a locked door.
At 4.15pm on Sunday emergency services were called to Second Avenue, Hove, after a 28-year old man living in a fourth floor flat had fallen about 50 feet from a window, landing in a muddy garden.
He was conscious, and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious arm and back injuries.
His condition was understood to be serious but not life threatening, but no update has been received from the hospital since Sunday.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
"It is believed the man had been crawling along a window ledge to gain access to another room in the flat for which the door lock was faulty."
