A man suffered a bleed on the brain after he was knocked down in what police are calling a "deliberate hit and run".
The 20-year-old man was walking with an 18-year-old woman in De Cham Road, St Leonards, just after 2.30pm on Good Friday when he was struck by a small silver car.
He suffered head and leg injuries and was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings where he was also treated for a bleed on the brain. He has since left hospital.
The woman was uninjured.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, who saw the silver car in the area before or afterwards or who has any information, to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Shuttle. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
