A MAN was the victim of “a nasty unprovoked assault” on Easter Sunday, in which he was left with a cut eye and chipped tooth.
In his early 30s, he was attacked in men’s toilets of The Loft Lounge in Station Street, Eastbourne, at about 11.50pm.
He was knocked to the ground, punched in the face and kicked enough to leave bruises on his body.
PC Nikki Desouza said: “The victim was out with friends when he was the victim of a nasty unprovoked assault.
“Any information from the public would be welcome.”
A 30-year-old man from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of assault.
He was questioned and bailed until Wednesday, May 6, while enquiries continue.
The victim was given stitches at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
Two men who went to his aid are being sought by police.
