Three men have died and a teenage girl is fighting for her life after three separate road collisions in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

In the first incident at about 12.40am in Crowborough, a Renault Clio collided with the wall of St Michael & All Angels Church in Rotherfield Road. Two men died at the scene instantly.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting operation Lapwing.

In the second smash at about 6.50am, a silver Peugeot 206 and pink Kia Picanto travelling northbound on the A29 Shipney Road in Bognor collided. The Peugeot subsequently left the road and struck a tree. The driver, a 22-year-old man from Bognor, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old female passenger from Ford was air lifted to Southampton General Hospital with serious head injuries. She remains in a critical condition.

The occupants of the Kia were uninjured.

In a third accident in Hove, a car and ambulance collided at about 3.40am in Kingsway. Two people were cut free from the wreckage of the car. One person went to hospital for treatment but the extent of their injuries is still unclear.
