Firefighters had to rescue a man from a fountain after he became stuck.
He had clambered up some scaffolding on the side of the fountain in Old Steine, Brighton.
It is understood he was part of a group of four or five individuals who wanted to get a better view of the Brighton Marathon.
The others climbed down but one man passed out on top of the fountain.
An eyewitness at the scene said it appeared the group had been drinking.
In a 45-minute operation this morning, involving an aerial platform from Preston Circus along with two other fire engines, the man was brought down to safety.
The police were on the scene but no arrests were made.
A police spokeswoman said: "They were brought down so as not to watch it from the fountain, nothing more sinister than that."
