A FORMER councillor accused of attempting to murder his wife is set to stand trial today.
Joseph O’Riordan, 73, will take to the dock at Hove Crown Court after pleading not guilty at a previous hearing in February.
O’Riordan was arrested on October 22 last year after police were called to an address in Guardian Court, Brookside Avenue, Polegate, where they found Amanda O’Riordan with multiple wounds.
He was a councillor for the Polegate North Ward at the time of the incident, but has since been disqualified.
