A DOG walker collapsed in the middle of a road.
The woman in her late 20s was walking her Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type dog in Ladies Mile Road at about 11.30am today when she had a seizure and fell to the floor.
Passersby rushed to her aid and called an ambulance at around 11.40am. Neighbours, including two nurses, heard the commotion and came to her assistance.
Five people looked after her and the dog as she regained consciousness. They directed traffic, including a number 56 Compass bus, while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.
Paramedics in a car and ambulance checked the woman over and a spokesman said she was discharged at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
