Five people were injured and two were hospitalised in a two car smash which left the A27 closed.
At 10.21pm on Tuesday police were called to the A27 dual carriageway westbound at its junction with Dyke Road and the A2038 King George VI Avenue, Hangleton.
A silver Toyota Avensis and a silver Toyota Auris estate car, both westbound, had collided, resulting in slight injuries to both drivers and five passengers.
The driver of the Avenis, a 64-year-old Angmering man, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, and a 21-year-old Worthing man who was a passenger in the Auris was taken to Worthing Hospital, but neither was detained.
The 73-year-old driver of the Auris, from Goring-by-Sea, and the other passengers did not require hospital treatment.
The A27 westbound and the junction slip roads were briefly closed to traffic while emergency services were in attendance.
