The Argus has a vacancy for a Letters Editor.
The successful applicant will work as part of our news subbing operation, preparing material for our newspaper and website, focusing primarily on our two popular daily letters pages.
The role demands speed and accuracy, incisive editing skills and the ability to write great headlines. It also requires diplomacy and a calm but firm manner in dealing with the many readers who contact The Argus by letter, email and phone.
Knowledge of Quark and Photoshop are desirable, although training can be given if necessary.
You will probably already be working as a sub for a daily or weekly newspaper and ambitious to join a leading title.
