A DEDICATED Albion fan who died from a brain tumour earlier this year has been named the Football League's supporter of the year.
Seagulls’ supporter Sarah Watts, who had already been named Capital One Supporter of the Year for the Championship, was named the best fan of all three divisions at an award ceremony in London tonight.
Crawley Town’s Tracey Cole, who helps to arrange travel to away matches for the Crawley Town Supporters Alliance, won the fan award for League One.
Ms Watts, who died in January, has been recognised for her relentless campaigning against homophobia with the Brighton and Hove Supporters’ Club and the Gay Football Supporters’ Network.
She follows in the footsteps of fellow Albion fan Paul Samrah, who collected the award in 2008.
