I thought Richard W Symonds' description of Crawley (Letters, March 22) sounded somewhat grim.
I tend to view Crawley as being the economic powerhouse of Sussex.
Those of us native to Sussex would have seen this town grow from a collection of small communities to become the second largest town in the county.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask the residents of Crawley to become involved in our forthcoming Sussex Day (June 16) and lead the way in celebrating all which is good in the county.
