A HOSPICE has opened a new charity shop.
The Martlets Trading Co in London Road, Brighton, is inspired by the recently-renovated London Road open market.
It includes a vintage section with clothes, furniture and homeware as well as jewellery and accessories dating from the 1920s to the 1990s. All proceeds will go to the Martlets Hospice in Hove, which supports terminally ill people and their families across the city and surrounding areas.
Martlets head of retail, Eve Collins, said: “This is a really exciting new venture for us. To be in the heart of the up-and-coming London Road area of Brighton is a fantastic opportunity.
The official opening ceremony was carried out by Brighton and Hove mayor Brian Fitch.
The shop will be open seven days a week.
To volunteer to work there, people are asked to email retailvolunteering@martlets.org.uk or call 01273 273400.
