TV hotel evacuated after fire in basement
A HOTEL which featured on a Channel 5 TV show was evacuated after a fire broke out in the basement.
East Beach Hotel, in Royal Parade, Eastbourne, was evacuated in the early hours of this morning after there was a fire in the seafront property’s basement.
The hotel, formerly the Weyanoke Hotel, featured on hit documentary series The Hotel Inspector and underwent an extensive redesign.
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended the thirty-two room hotel at 5am and used breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
Fire investigators will return today for a reinspection and there were no reported injuries.
