Andy Thomas, performer of My Kampf, answers some quick-fire questions:

What’s your show about?

It is my performed autobiography. Stories of loss, love, personal disasters, getting revenge on the school bully, surviving school and dealing with work. It’s an excuse for silly jokes, self-deprecating humour, songs and the worst history essay in the world done by an ex-student.

Why should someone come and see your show?

It’s for anyone who has struggled in life and is trying to make sense of it all, anyone worried they have too many friends on Facebook. Anyone who has worn braces on their teeth, had acne, worked in a school that has become an academy and had surreal dreams about the Chuckle Brothers.

What is your motivation for putting this on?

It has been a few years since I did a one-man show. I wanted to challenge myself to be as interesting and amusing as I could be on my own for one hour.

What does Brighton Fringe mean to you? Do you have a favourite Fringe moment?

I have performed in all but one Fringe since 2006. It means a great deal – it is a fantastic way to get your creative side out and see if you can come up with new material. My favourite Fringe moment was winning Best Comedy in the Latest Seven Awards in 2010 for Crimes Against Humanities Teachers. I had never won anything before.

Would grandma and the kids enjoy your show or is it for a special audience?

It’s an adult show really. You have to be over 16. Grandma’s welcome if she brings some cake.
