THE look of Green councillor Phelim Mac Cafferty says it all.
The five year topsy turvy reign of the Greens in Brighton and Hove is over after they lost nine of their 20 seats.
After one historic term the Green Party lost out to Labour, with their leader Warren Morgan immediately vowing to suspend the £18million Valley Gardens transport scheme.
He said the Greens had paid the price over their struggle to resolve the bin strikes and their bad record on recycling.
But the Greens will be remembered for making big changes, not least the city’s 20 mph roads.
And Labour have only a minority lead – leaving the door open for the Greens to retain a big influence.
