A driver was badly hurt after his car crashed into a wall and flipped on to its roof.
The accident happened in Bohemia Road, Hastings, shortly after 3am today.
Firefighters were needed to cut the driver, a 20-year-old local man, from the vehicle.
He was taken to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards with serious injuries.
No-other vehicle was involved and the driver was on his own in the car.
The road was closed for more than three hours because a lot of petrol had spilled out following the accident and firefighters had to use foam to stop it from igniting.
