MOTORISTS have been warned of an “abnormal load” expected because of a large vehicle.

Police say delays are likely on Friday as the lorry travels across Brighton and Hove and into East Sussex.

It will be escorted from Basin Road South in Portslade to North Quay Road in Newhaven, starting its journey at about 9.30am.

Rolling roadblocks will need to be in place at stages along its journey and it may also only travel at a maximum speed of about 30mph.

From Basin Road South the lorry will travel along Wharf Road and Kingsway to the B2193 Church Road where it will turn north.

It will then turn east on to Old Shoreham Road before heading north on the Hangleton Link Road on to the A27 eastbound.

It will then turn south at the Beddingham roundabout to Newhaven.

Police have apologised in advance for the delay and asked for driver patience.
