No one denies that, with eight MPs, 335 lost deposits from 631 candidatures, and only 2,415,888 votes, the General Election was the worst election showing ever for the Liberal Democrats.
But, which party won just one MP, 440 lost deposits from 571 candidatures, and only 1,157,613 votes?
The Greens may well be celebrating Ms Lucas’ increased majority in Brighton Pavilion, but why hasn’t Natalie Bennett, who came nowhere near winning Holborn, followed suit from Ed Miliband, Nigel Farage, and Nick Clegg, and resigned as Green Party Leader?
