I can find little justification for the situation which demanded that I attend Hove Town Hall, left, sufficiently early to obtain a ticket in order to observe councillors decide whether or not we would have the King Alfred project.
Not while it would be possible for the proceedings to be webcast so almost half of the electorate could witness them and so form their own opinions regarding the debate and decision.
Other councils have no difficulty with webcasting their meetings, so why can't Brighton and Hove City Council?
Soon there will be elections for the next council and again we shall deplore the fact that a mere 30 per cent or so will bother to vote.
Meanwhile, little is done to change things.
