A FORMER Sussex school pupil has finished fifth in the Britain’s Got Talent final after earning glowing praise from the show’s famously grumpy judge.
Fifteen-year-old Isaac Waddington, who attended The Prebendal School in Chichester, wowed judge Simon Cowell with his final performance on the ITV talent show.
Jules O'Dwyer and her dog Matisse were confirmed as the ninth winners of the show beating 12 other finalists to take home £250,000 and earn a spot at this year's Royal Variety Performance.
Mr Cowell said on the show last night: "Isaac, that was fantastic. Fantastic. No gimmicks, no tricks, but what I loved about it was you were in complete control of the song.
"You have improved so much from when we first met you. I thought I knew who was going to win and I may have changed my mind now."
The school also praised their former pupil, tweeting out: “So proud of our former pupil @WaddingtonIsaac who came fifth - definitely a star in the making! #BGTfinal.”
