A VIDEO featuring a university’s star-studded alumni congratulating it’s most recent graduates has won a prestigious international award.
The video featuring DJ Norman Cook, illustrator Chris Riddell, author Peter James and tailor Gresham Blake created to welcome hundreds of students to recent University of Brighton graduate award ceremonies has scooped a silver Circle of Excellence award from CASE, the Washington DC-based international association of educational institutions.
The University of Brighton Alumni Association video opens with Fatboy Slim’s demand to “sit down, shut up and listen”.
He said: “When the alumni team contacted me about being in a video to congratulate new graduates, I was happy to take part, but when I heard their ideas about how I would introduce the film, it made me smile.
“Only the University of Brighton could pull something off so cheeky yet still celebratory and charming. I am chuffed for the team to win this award, especially against such stiff opposition from universities in the States.”
