A STUDENT who vanished nearly a month ago has been found safe and well in America.

Chay Dunn, who attends the University of Brighton, was thought to travelled more than 3,500 miles to see someone he met on the internet.

Police asked for help to find him after he boarded a plane at Gatwick and flew to JFK airport in New York in and out-of-character disappearance.

After the 20-year-mysteriously disappeared it emerged he had not been attending university lectures for six months unbeknown to his family and his rented accommodation in Sandown Road, Brighton, was missing essentials.

His mother, who lives in Aberdeenshire, last spoke to him on the phone on May 18 and since then there had been no activity on his social media pages.

He had never gone missing before but had not been responding to phone or text messages left for him since he disappeared.

Yesterday police said he has been found safe and well in the USA and thanked the public and media for their help in tracking him down.
