THERE is still time to send in your entries for the One Summer’s Day photographic competition by The Argus.

Last week we asked photographers across Sussex to send us their best efforts taken on Sunday, June 21 – the longest day of the year.

We asked for pictures that encapsulated the feeling of summer. Since then, we have been inundated with a collection of brilliant pictures that capture the essence of summer in Sussex. But there is still time to send in your pictures.

The ones sent in include a shot from Patrick Clinton, 66, of Morris men at Standen House in East Grinstead, pictured.

Patrick said: “I’m not a professional photographer but I am always taking pictures wherever I go and wish to share this one with as many people as possible as I particularly like it.”

Sunday has of course now passed, but the opportunity to send in your pictures taken on the day is still open to talented snappers.

There are three prizes for adults – first, second and third place. There is also a junior prize for those under 16. All entries need to be sent in as medium-sized jpeg files – no GIF, PNG, TIFF or RAW files please.

Mike Gilson, editor of The Argus, said: “The entries we’ve received have really captured the spirit of summer in Sussex. “From beautiful rolling countryside to pictures of our famous seaside towns and cities, the hoards of entries sent in have been weird, wonderful and everything in between.

“Although Sunday has been and gone, there is still time to get your last-minute pictures taken from the day sent over to our picture desk.

“Our team has genuinely enjoyed sorting through the array of photographs sent in so far and we’ll look forward to receiving more in the coming days.”

We are interested in pictures of people enjoying themselves in British summertime – and that includes having a kickabout at the park – or snaps of the environment.

Ultimately it should capture what a summer’s day means to you.

Even if it was raining where you were, don’t be deterred from sending in your photographs.
