Motorists are warned to be vigilant after a pair of designer sunglasses and a bag was stolen from a parked vehicle.

Several thefts from vehicles in and around Seaford have prompted police to repeat advice to owners to lock their cars when leaving them and not to leave valuables behind.

A small amount of loose change was taken from a vehicle parked in Dane Road on Wednesday night and a pair of Rayban sunglasses from another vehicle parked in the High Street the following night.

At around 2pm on Friday a bag was also stolen from a vehicle in the Tidemills car park after a window was smashed to gain access.

Sergeant Stuart Mullins, of the Seaford neighbourhood policing team, said: "The first two offences appear opportunistic and there was no sign of a forced entry in either case, underlining the importance of locking vehicles however briefly they may be left.

"The Tidemills theft was probably prompted by the bag being left in view. Car parks at beauty spots are a common target, and again I'd urge people to be on their guard and to report any suspicious activity to the police."
