THIS group of girls was spotted risking their lives as they dangled their legs over the edge of a cliff.

The girls were spotted by artist Patrick Goff at Haven Brow, close to Cuckmere Haven.

He said: “They were sitting on a ledge, a little shelf jutting out and were really putting themselves at risk and being very foolish.”

Mr Goff, from Seaford, said he thought they were students when he spotted them and if he had been their tutor he would have asked them if they wanted to “live or die”.

“They were risking their lives and I was scared,” he added.

Last year a man was spotted posing for a picture while dangling his legs over the cliff at nearby Beachy Head and in March walkers were spotted sitting on the edge of Seaford Head, 150ft up.

Their actions triggered safety warnings as parts of the Seven Sisters have been eroding and collapsing into the sea, including a 21ft-wide stretch of cliff in 2013 at Birling Gap, which has been placed on an at-risk list by the Environment Agency.
