Take one experimental cult band and one cult film with a pulsing soundtrack and you have an exhilarating collision of fast-paced live music.

Lola has 20 minutes to come up with 100,000 marks to save her boyfriend from a gangland death and so begins a breakneckfast story with her hurtling across the city in a race against time.

Dialogue is kept to a minimum but the electrifying soundtrack provides the soul of the film.

In a world premiere exclusive to Brighton Festival, The Bays will perform a live improvised soundtrack to this BAFTAnominated cult classic. What makes it so unusual is the fact they don't make albums, they don't rehearse, they simply take the music and run where it takes them, creating a unique performance partnership with the crowd.

They remix, reinvent and create new tracks on stage without any planning to provide a stunning audiovisual ride.

Programmer Guy Morley says: "It has proved to be so popular we've had to add a second date.

"The event has interested a lot of people in Brighton which is fantastic.

"It says a lot about the popularity of The Bays because they are a band who don't release albums."
