THE funeral of Shoreham Airshow disaster victim Mark Trussler was held yesterday.

The 54-year-old’s funeral was held in The Kingswood Chapel at Worthing Crematorium.

Mr Trussler, from Worthing, had taken his motorbike to the airshow, hoping to see the last flight of the Vulcan bomber, when he was caught up in the devastating plane crash on August 22.

The father of six was one of the 11 people who died when a Hawker Hunter jet plummeted on to the A27.

After the crash, fiancee Giovanna Chirico described Mr Trussler as “an amazing dad who had a passion for motorbikes and rugby”.

“He would do anything for his kids and they couldn’t have asked for a better dad,” she said.

“He loved all his family. He was happy-go-lucky and if you were down he would cheer you up. We are going to miss him terribly.”

The window cleaner’s friends organised a balloon release at Tarring Park, Worthing, in his memory and to raise funds ahead of the funeral.
