A MAN has been arrested and remains in custody after shots were fired in a public place.
Police officers were called to the top of Elm Grove in Brighton near the Racecourse to reports of guns being fired.
The incident happened at about 8pm on Tuesday during an altercation between a small group of people who were known to each other.
No one was injured.
A man was later arrested on the A23.
