A TEAM of trekkers raised more than £8,500 after tackling a 35 kilometre hike.
Walkers, families and individuals set off bright and early on Saturday to take part in the A2B walk from Arundel to Brighton.
The group were fundraising for the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity which helps babies, children and their families affected by celebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties.
The 7am walk kicked off at Arundel Castle and weaved its way through the South Downs to the finish line at Devil’s Dyke.
Ann Wenn, a parent who uses the charity, said: “I cannot express how much my friends and I enjoyed our time on Saturday.
“It was an incredible experience and huge gratitude to everyone that took part and helped.
“The service is absolutely invaluable and the difference in my son has been remarkable.
“He now has a confidence he did not have before and is achieving things we believed would never be possible.”
