A WOMAN has missed out on being crowned the funniest in the country.
Jane Postlethwaite of Hove went to the Funny Women finals in London on Wednesday night.
Starting out as one of 300 entries, she became one of ten finalists from across the UK.
The Stage Award went to Desiree Leah Burch from California while Christine Entwistle picked up the Comedy Writing Award and Rachel Marwood picked up the prize for best Comedy Short.
Miss Postlethwaite said: “I didn’t win ... but it was a brilliant night.”
Past winners and finalists include Brighton-based comic Zoe Lyons, Radio 4 panellist Susan Calman and celebrity Sarah Millican.
