PARENTS have raised concerns about children being approached by a man.

There have been five reports to police since Monday. All centre on Littlehampton. Three are being investigated but two are not believed to have happened.

On Monday, an 11-year-old girl reported being followed through Littlehampton cemetery in Horsham Road at about 3.15pm. She describes him as 30-40 years old, of skinny build, about 6ft tall, wearing grey jogging trousers with paint on and a navy blue hooded top. He was missing some of his teeth. He made no attempt to touch her, but she ran away.

On Tuesday, at about 9.20am, an 11-year-old boy told his mother a man in a balaclava and all black clothing ran after him as he rode along Clun Road towards the junction with Arundel Road.

On Wednesday, at about 8.30pm, a 14-year-old boy reported being followed by a man along Queen's Street. He whistled at the boy and when the boy asked him what he was doing and got out his phone, the man ran away.

A report today about two boys being approached in Southfield has been established as untrue.

Detective Sergeant Simon Dunn said: "We are investigating these three incidents to see if they are linked and working with the children and their families to establish more details.

"In none of the cases did the man try and touch any of the children and they all did the right thing and told someone as soon as they could."
