FIREFIGHTERS had to put a drunk man in a harness to haul him from a basement after he fell off a wall.
The crew from Preston Circus Community Fire Station were called to the Old Steine in Brighton just after 1am this morning to assist the ambulance.
A man had tried to climb over a wall between the Old Steine and East Street before plunging into the basement down below.
Watch manager Dave Statham said: “We were called to a man who had fallen into a basement.
“He was really drunk.
“He’d tried to climb over a wall and has gone over the other side and fallen into a basement so we put a harness around him and pulled him up.
“He’d had a lot of alcohol.”
