This all male dance troupe combines homage to Russian classical ballet with comic parody.

In doing so, they demonstrate their skills through highly disciplined techniques that allow male dancers to dance great female roles that would otherwise be denied them.

While there is comedy, especially in the Swan Lake segment where the funny bits segue without the dancers losing a beat, the emphasis in this visit is on serious dancing.

The extract from Don Quixote is danced virtually straight with various Pas de Deux and solos that are breathtaking - a treat for Balletomanes and ballet novices alike.

Patterns In Space sends up modern dance, both in movement and sound, through gymnastic posing with pretentious accompaniment created on stage by two “musicians”.

Go For Barocco, danced to a glorious baroque soundtrack, satirises the choreography of Balanchine.

But no visit would be complete without the Dying Swan being performed.

The elegance of the sequence is counterpointed by the moulting costume. Feathers cascading as the swan dances.

At the curtain call the company turn from Russia to Ireland as they give the audience their version of Riverdance.
