Once upon a time, Tom Thumb turned 80.
What ensued was a flawless performance which left its audience completely mesmerised.
Inventive puppetry depicted Tom's final adventure and, when complemented by an injection of live music, this show was enjoyed by young and old alike.
Jam-packed with clever devices and imaginative scenarios, the show included a dramatic flight on a crow's back, a dancing fiasco in a giant's stomach and an inspired escape from an elderly people's home.
There was only one drawback - the slightly confusing plot jumps between actor Tom and puppet Tom made the narrative slightly unclear and no doubt left parents with a few interesting questions from the kids.
Otherwise, this was a flawless performance which will live happily ever after in the minds of all who witnessed it.
