A WOMAN is taking on a gruelling walk to raise money for charity.

Dental nurse Jacqui Crosthwaite, 52, from Seaford, will be walking from London to Brighton in aid of Dog Assistance in Disability (Dog AID.).

The charity helps people with disabilities train their pet dog to assistance dog level.

The event starts on May 28 at Richmond and then takes in the Downs before finishing in Brighton the next day.

Participants walk through the day and night and more than 60 per cent of the route is off-road.

Mrs Crosthwaite, who has two rescue lurchers called Jerry and Mowgli, said: “This event will put me out of my comfort zone but and I am totally ready for it.

“I chose to raise funds for Dog AID as dogs trained to help people with disabilities are truly amazing.

Dogs are such wonderful animals who enrich our lives so much, I couldn’t imagine a home without one, or two”
