BRIAN Wilson from the Beach Boys will be making his only UK festival appearance of the year in Brighton.
The Together the People festival has pulled off the scoop as it returns for its second year at Preston Park and the singer songwriter will perform classic Beach Boys album Pet Sounds in full alongside former band mate Al Jardine.
The 1966 record is regarded as one of the most important albums in the history of pop music.
Their set at the two-day event in September will be the pair's only festival appearance in the UK this year.
Along with performing the acclaimed album they will also provide a host of Beach Boys classics as well as material from Wilson's sprawling solo career.
A host of other acts have also been announced including garage punk band The Horrors, future soul act Hiatus Kaiyote, and indie rock band Turin Brakes.
Also appearing is the lead singer of Supergrass and Brighton resident Gaz Coombes, desert punks from Timbuktu Songhoy Blues and reggae singer songwriter Natty.
This is just the first wave of acts with the organisers promising more will be announced soon for the event, being held during the weekend of September 3 and 4.
Together the People, which debuted last year featuring acts such as Jose Gonzalez, Super Furry Animals and Public Service Broadcasting, will once again feature three stages of music and feature family-friendly entertainment.
Last year nearly 8,000 people attended the site in Preston Park.
The festival will have the Incredible Moving Picturehouse Cinema on site and the Soapbox stage which will feature talks, debates, poetry and spoken word.
The event is run by a group of independent Brighton based businesses and individuals including concert promoters One Inch Badge and seafront music venue Concorde 2.
The festival also aims to have a green feel, last year being powered by bio-diesel and solar power, recycling more than five tonnes of waste and raising more than £2,000 for the Brighton Housing Trust.
Family friendly entertainment which aims to celebrate music, food, community, film and the arts in Brighton and Hove is the event's mission statement.
Adult weekend tickets are £95, £50 for kids aged 11 to 15, £25 for children under 10, and those under 3 go free.
