TWO men were hit by a car when they helped a woman who had fallen in the road.

Both were taken to hospital with injuries and one – a 32-year-old man from London – remains in a critical condition.

The driver did not stop after the crash which left the second man, a 35-year-old from Bognor with minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to Harbour View Road in Pagham on Sunday at around 1.40am after a 41-year-old woman from London was left with minor injuries after falling in the road.

A 39-year-old man from Bognor was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, driving under the influence of drugs, driving without a license, driving without insurance, failing to stop after a road accident and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail until June 29.
