Police are seeking witnesses to an incident which occurred at around 2.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday at Stoneham Park, Marmion Road, Hove, in which two boys were shot with air weapons by two other boys.

The close-range attack resulted in injuries to both victims, aged 12 and 13, causing bruising and swelling which required medical treatment at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

One of the victim's mothers arrived at the scene and was herself threatened, with the weapons being pointed at her, and subjected to abusive language before the suspects made off.

Two boys aged 13 and 15 were each arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and affray. After being questioned, they were released on bail until 9 June pending further enquiries.
