VISITORS heading to Brighton Pride have been advised to make alternative travel arrangements and not come by train.

Southern Railway bosses warned because of continuing train crew shortages, some services may have to be cancelled and there will be a reduced service over the weekend.

They have also warned there will be a queuing system in place at Brighton railway station for return journeys, and Preston Park station will be closed.

Continuing engineering works at London Bridge means those using train services should expect long waiting times before they can board a train home.

Southern’s Brighton Area Manager Paul Wyborn said: "We’ll do the best we can with the resources we have available but the trains that do run will be exceptionally busy.

"That’s why we are regrettably advising people to try and find another way of getting in and out of Brighton to beat the crowds and unavoidable queues."

The queuing system at Brighton station will be in place from 6am, and customers will be allowed on to the platforms on a first-come-first served basis as space allows.
